Salt Room

Therapeutic Salt Room!

Drug-Free, Completely Natural, Significant Health Benefits!

What is Halotherapy? (Therapeutic Salt Room)

Salt therapy, also referred to as Halotherapy, is a drug-free and completely natural therapy with no side effects and significant benefits to a number of physical disorders. It takes place in a dry and sterile environment that recreates a natural microclimate identical to ancient salt caves and salt mines. As a non-invasive and safe respiratory therapy, the dry salt aerosol that has a small particle size and a negative electrical charge is passively inhaled in a specially constructed salt room. The dry salt aerosol is gently blown into the salt room. The walls and the floor of the salt room are covered with crystal salt. The particles of salt are inhaled and travel into the deepest parts of the lungs and sinuses. The inhalation of the salt particles helps to open constricted airways, reduce inflammation, and increase the clearance of mucous. Providing a negative ion environment (like the seashore), the salt room contributes to a feeling of well-being and promotes stress reduction.

At Shores Wellness Solutions we provide luxurious accommodations, comfortable seating, a peaceful environment, and a relaxed atmosphere. We offer 45-minute long sessions. The therapy involves sitting in the salt room in an adjustable and comfortable lounge chair. The room temperature and humidity is maintained at a comfortable level. Most people like to close their eyes, and some will fall asleep or meditate. There is no talking (including cell phones and/or texting) allowed during our adult sessions. For exclusive privacy, there is an option for booking a VIP private session at an extra charge.

Salt Therapy Sessions

How many sessions will I need?
Every experience is different, and it depends on the type and severity of your condition. Based on the research, we would recommend a course of 10-12 sessions, preferably within 4-8 weeks. You may feel some improvement after a single session, but a series of sessions are required to achieve long-term results. For mild conditions, 6-8 sessions may be enough. Each session should be repeated every other day for several days, depending on your needs and the condition. It is recommended to repeat the series of sessions 2-3 times a year. Some people use sessions as a preventative measure to avoid the common cold and other respiratory viruses and for overall health & wellness.

What to expect after the therapy?
Some people will experience a mild salt taste on their lips, similar to being by the ocean. Others may experience a mild throat tickle, which can be easily treated by sipping warm water after the session. Some people will experience increased mucous production. This will present itself in the form of a runny nose or a productive cough after the session. This is the body’s natural mechanism for the elimination of toxins, pollens, and viruses. If you have ever smoked in the past, you may experience a period of cough and mucous production as your body naturally clears the lungs of residual toxins. Most asthmatics will also experience an nitial period of increased mucous production and cough as the body decreases inflammation, opens airways, and expels the stagnant mucous.

When should the therapy be avoided?
Therapy should be avoided during the acute (active) phase of any illness, including the following: infections accompanied by fever, contagious conditions, alcohol or drug intoxication.

*** To ensure your safety and the safety of our clients, we require that you reschedule if there shall be evidence of any active phase and/or contiguous disease***
